4. Nuts and seeds
Nuts such as almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, and pistachios are among Fast 800’s “top healthy foods for weight loss”.
Chia seeds are said to be among the most nutritious foods on the planet.
They contain 12 grams of carbohydrates per ounce, which is pretty high, but 11 of these grams are fibre which makes them a great low-carb-friendly food – perfect for the keto diet.
Almonds are a good source of monounsaturated fats, which are said to be a secret ingredient to help burn belly fat. Combined with their high protein and fibre content, almonds make for a good weight loss food as they “help curb cravings”.
Consuming pistachios at breakfast have been found to help burn belly fat. One pistachio is around three calories (compared to almonds which are roughly 14 calories each, for example).
As some nuts and seeds have high-calorie content, it’s important not to go overboard. Experts recommend a handful or 22 grams of nuts daily.
